Better Cookies.ca creates unique gourmet cookie gift boxes delivered throughout Canada and cookie gift baskets, giant cookie grams, cookie jars, and cookie bouquets in Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington, Hamilton and around the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Their cookies are baked fresh and taste amazing.
For this web site, we were tasked to develop a system that provides comprehensive automation tools. From the point that orders are placed on-line to the baking of the cookies and packaging the gift, custom eshipper.com and courier complete integration, we have made huge improvements in simplifying the entire process to improve capabilities of scale and reduce time spent on an order.
Web Development Notes
For this project, we were involved in web consulting, integrative web development and PHP / MySQL programming. The key goal for this project was to create a web site that took care of all of the small details automatically. We first identified the areas where the business was not operating efficiently and then developed a plan to solve these issues. In most cases, we were able to provide a programming solution to the work that was being done manually.
We essentially built a web robot to run the key areas of the business that could be easily automated. This dramatically reduced order handling times and increased capacity.
This programming included custom API based integration with the local courier company, payment processor, bake list management and much more.
We were also involved in setting up a Wordpress based blog for Better Cookies to showcase the cookies gifts they deliver in Canada and across the GTA.
The addition of their new gluten free cookies in 2017 and 2018 was fun to be part of. They make the best gluten free vegan cookies we have ever tasted!
