Can I choose Elehost to design my site and use a different company to host my web site?
Yes, you can use any web hosting company you like to host your web site. Once your website has been completed we will require the hosting account's ftp login (username and password) to publish the site live.
If we will be developing database based applications which make your site more dynamic then it is easier to have it hosted with Elehost to ensure extra time is not wasted dealing with complications due to the other host's unique configuration.
We have also found that once our externally hosted customers recognize the special care and support they get when they have their site designed with Elehost they often switch over the hosting to have one very reliable source for both their website hosting and design needs.
How long does it take for a web site to be designed?
The time-frame to build a web site is primarily determined by the size and complexity of the web site.
The more features required in the web site like e-commerce functionality including a shopping cart, or a secure sales form, will add to the time it takes to complete.
If there is an e-commerce aspect to the site then establishing merchant accounts can take a number of weeks for all the paperwork to be completed. We can assist with this process as part of managing the project to ensure this part is completed in a timely manner.
It is also important to put together the content of the web site in an organized manner as that typically tends to delay the process of finishing the project.
