Will I have unlimited access to update my Web pages?

Yes, there is no limit to the number of times you can update your site.

How do I update my Web pages?

If your site is built in a Content Management System (CMS) such as WordPress, or Joomla, you will have on-line administrator access to be able to manage the content of your site directly.

For static sites that are not built in a CMS you can create and maintain your web pages, images, and scripts locally, and upload them to our web server at your convenience via FTP. You can overwrite existing files or transfer new files. Many web development applications include FTP capabilities, or you can download a free FTP client like Filezilla.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is a unique sequence of letters and numbers that can be used to identify a website on the Internet.  A domain name is case-insenstive, can only contain letters, numbers and dashes, and must start with a letter or a number.

A domain name must end with a period followed by a sequence of letters that comprise what is called a top level domain (TLD).

There are generic top level domains (gTLD) such as .com or .org.  There are country code top level domains (ccTLD) such as .ca.

If you wish to host a website you need to register a domain name.

The www. that you often see in web site URL's is not part of a domain name.
