Elehost is excited to announce it has completed its server upgrade program. This means that all our customers will enjoy even faster and more reliable service for many years to come.

The focus was to find a server platform that allowed for flexible growth while at the same time being as energy efficient as possible.

Elehost has dedicated since its inception to be as as environmentally friendly as possible. This means reducing the use of paper, installing more efficient power supplies in existing equipment, and always turning off any equipment which is not needed.

I also wanted to take this time to share with you that the Elehost team is very proud of its efforts in reducing its power usage. After all the upgrades were completed the net result was a savings of over 10 amps (1200 Watts) of less power being used. In day to day terms this means we have effectively permanently turned off 60 compact fluorescent light bulbs (each using 20 watts of power). This means Elehost has reduced its carbon dioxide (CO₂₎ emissions by over 16,188 pounds of CO₂ emissions per year (7343 kilograms CO₂ emissions / yr) based on 1.54 lbs CO₂/kWh (EPA 2008).
